Penguin cake toppers

A lovely girl at work Amanda is getting married. Her and her fiance once saw some penguins in the wild with their arms around each others back, like they were having a cuddle! So when thinking about cake topper decorations for their wedding, penguins were an obvious choice. I worked with Amanda in the design of these pretties which I sculpted in polymer clay and painted. I am pleased with the result. I wish Amanda and her fiance every happiness for their special day next week and for decades to come!

Russian Mornings

Here is my custom order black cat for Annette. This necklace is going to be a gift for her sister.

It's name is Koshka (which is Russian for cat).

This morning he was chilling with the Cossacks in my backyard... getting all Russian on everybody.

1, 2, 3 Catto

The other day I bought my Grandma a porcelain cat statue... it is so beautiful!

It got me thinking that I should attempt to make polymer clay cats again.

I tried doing just their faces but it always turned out looking like koalas or dogs! So Sean pointed at a drawing I'd done a few months ago and suggested I make cats like that. So here is the outcome.

Boris

The week that was last week. Just some wonderful week in May.
I had consistently black finger nails from some new friends I was making. Some owls in the shape of pineapples and a custom made bear.

Not just any bear either, a black bear with a good Russian name, Boris.

Pineapple owls modelling my new sterling silver chains.

These little guys as well as some of my other creations should be available in Cafe Lulu at the Mornington Antique Centre in a weeks time. It's all very exciting! I'd like to thanks Megan from Creatures of the Greenwood for her excellent business advice.

Ideas...

It's a Thursday night and I'm playing around with jewellery ideas & mice when I should be sleeping...
I'd be interested to know what you think of this new Velvet brooch idea... I know Macro can be a little harsh because the brooch looks larger in the photos than it does in real life, but you get the idea!

Fimo - The Dungeon

As I am just having my (early) lunch of left over Sweet & Sour chicken... (YUM!) I thought I'd tell ya'll about my Fimo!

I've been using Fimo to make pendants for jewellery and have just been playing around with it in general; it's fun! So far I've made a few animals, flowers and other weird shapes. I'm so lucky because my uncle gave me a whole box for free including many different colours and even marbled Fimo.

This is where my best work gets done, at home in 'The Dungeon'.

I added this little one to my collection last night... Nutmeg. I wore him around my neck today at work.

More to come soon....
