Opp Shop Finds

$2.50 pair of vintage Taiwanese rabbits. Adorable!

No I didn't find this exact American Apparel skirt at the op shop, but the one I got is so close it's not funny. Black calf length with accordion pleats. Considering I was going to buy the real deal tonight, I'm so glad I went to the op shop at lunch. Saved myself $80! Yeah!

Rabbit Treasuries

Recently I have been lucky enough to be featured in a couple of rabbit themed treasuries on Etsy. My Tea Sipping Rabbit cameo brooch appeared in this April Tea Lovers Treasury - Lemon Bunnies by battic Also my dearest Samson necklace was featured in this Hippity Hoppity treasury by Tib44 Click the images to see these wonderful treasuries full size! I wish I had more time to make treasuries. It is so fun!

Custom Bunnies

About a month ago I received a lovely Etsy convo from someone who had made a purchase from my market stall 5 months ago. I remember them clearly - the girl of the couple had been debating whether to purchase the necklace of polymer clay rabbit Poppy or polymer clay rabbit Rhubarb. She ended up choosing Poppy and now wanted to reunite her with her sister Rhubarb. But alas, Rhubarb had been sold! So I worked with the couple and made them some other options for friends for Poppy. It ended up they wanted the whole familly! So Pumpkin, Rose and Parsley have now all gone off to their new home in the Australian Capital Territory with Poppy.

Enjoy!

New Creations - Market Ready

This Sunday heralds my first stall at The Rose St artists market in Fitzroy. It is open from 11am - 5pm... just off Brunswick Street. There are plenty of artists and designers to check out! I find the first time at a new market can be daunting and I am lucky enough to have my sister help me set up the stall. She has a blog too... clever cookie. www.ihavetworooms.blogspot.com.

Above are some new creations I have been working on in preparation for the market! Most of the market is undercover, but lets still hope for blue skies!

Vintage China Pendants

I just found an amazing shop on Etsy called 34Roses
They use old china plates with gorgeous patterns and pictures on them to make jewellery.
I just bought the cat below! It is currently on it's way from Roseburg, Oregon. Meow!

You could check out their personal website here www.34roses.com where there are a few different designs than on their Etsy store and where they offer free shipping!

Package...

Above are the contents of an order I sent off to Kansas last week. This is how I usually package my orders before sending them out to their new homes.
This little black bunny & free gift should have now arrived at its new home. :)

Ideas...

It's a Thursday night and I'm playing around with jewellery ideas & mice when I should be sleeping...
I'd be interested to know what you think of this new Velvet brooch idea... I know Macro can be a little harsh because the brooch looks larger in the photos than it does in real life, but you get the idea!

Saturday Crafternoon...

While Praying mantises were copulating on the lemon tree, I was hustling.

I love Beatrix Potter!! Some of her stories were actually dark and a bit creepy, but the drawings are gorgeous! Great inspiration.

Fimo - The Dungeon

As I am just having my (early) lunch of left over Sweet & Sour chicken... (YUM!) I thought I'd tell ya'll about my Fimo!

I've been using Fimo to make pendants for jewellery and have just been playing around with it in general; it's fun! So far I've made a few animals, flowers and other weird shapes. I'm so lucky because my uncle gave me a whole box for free including many different colours and even marbled Fimo.

This is where my best work gets done, at home in 'The Dungeon'.

I added this little one to my collection last night... Nutmeg. I wore him around my neck today at work.

More to come soon....

Stormy Storm Storm Storm

So in Melbourne there was a massive hail storm on Saturday in Melbourne.

“Where were you when the storm hit?”
I was watching Seinfield.

Then I ran to the train in the rain as I was meant to go to Laurens. But the train only took me one station. I was stranded at Caulfield with hundreds of other people due to power outages and floods. Sweet. You could be forgiven for mistaking the tunnel under the station for a sewer. But this crazy Chinese woman and her soon to be pet pigeon didn’t seem to mind… She kept chasing this poor pidgeon around! I think it might been a potential pigeon soup!

I decided to try and walk back home then catch a tram or drive in from there. But Lauren kindly offered to pick me up in her new car… Little did she know how bad the traffic would be! It took her an hour to get from Parkville to Richmond and all up she spent 4 hours in the car!! So many roads were blocked off. On the plus side we did have a dance party in the car.

When we finally got home at 9.30 we cracked open a bottle of red, watched Night at the Roxbury and played with Shani and Vaughan’s bunnies, Nougat and Gus.

Not very cute...

On Sunday night some peeps came over to mine for an indoor Moonlight Cinema experience. We watched Fantastic Mr. Fox & Aladdin.
My favourite lines from Fantastic Mr. Fox are “Divide that by 9 please.” and “…and these apples look fake, but, at least they have stars on them.”

I’ve seen that movie 3 times :) Love it love it love it!
