1967

Okay - so I'm still obsessing about Small Faces.
My heart still beats fast when I watch Small Faces film clips, dance and sing along to them in my car.
I thought I would inflict it upon all of you in the form of an Etsy treasury. There are parts of the late 60's for all to love. It reminds me a little of the hippy stage I went through when I was 13 & 14. I guess that's one of the reasons why I love this style of music and it makes me happy!
Enjoy this little taste of 60's style courtesy of wonderful Etsy sellers.

Off to the Woods

Lovely treasury I was featured in on Etsy. My black bear pieces are still my favourite - and why? Because he looks like someone else drew him!
The pieces and colours in this treasury reminds me that I'll be holidaying in frosty, green New Zealand next week! Can't wait.

GollyBard

GollyBard is a brand created by Holly Ward Bimba. She works on watercolours in her cottage in Virginia. The inspiration of her works are her natural surrounds. These include flora and fauna, life and death. Here are a few of my favourites from her Etsy.

I love the use of soft natural colours mixed with fine lines to create beautiful patterns within the works.

There is more joy in giving...

I thought I'd share with you a couple of presents my husband and I gifted each other for our anniversary last week.
These particular ones are from lovely Etsy buyers around the world.

I was lucky enough to receive a couple of gifts from my Etsy favourites list. Here is my now beloved Meghan ring by IndigoSilverStudio. The garnet in my ring is almost black but has a red tinge in the sun. It is stunning. I am wearing it stacked with two tiny gold hammered rings on either side.
Also received this over sized kaleidoscope locket from verabel which I had been eyeing off from months!
I couldn't resist purchasing a couple of things from Etsy for Sean too. A couple of moustache waxes from MansFaceStuff.
And this card from Sycamorestreetpress was perfect for Sean! He is a pirate, cowboy and lumberjack after all. To cater for all these persona's, I also purchased him a very fancy gaucho hat from Texas. Ole!

We had a great week celebrating our anniversary with friends, new and old, and of course family too. Here's to many more years of fun!

The Wind in the Willows

It would appear my Charming Mr. Frog brooch has been getting a bit of love already on Etsy treasuries. Here he is featured in a wonderful treasury inspired by 'The Wind in the Willows' by theVerdantGarage. I think this captures Wind in the Willows perfectly! Look at the little motorcar! I loved Wind in the Willows as a child, it brings back so many memories. If I watch the opening credits to the 1980's show on YouTube - I can't help but cry! There is also another frog based treasury taking isnpiration from a children's book by Arnold Lobel called 'Frog and Toad' by mkissel. Lots of froggy happiness. Enjoy!

Custom Order - Charming Mr. Frog

I received a custom order from a returning customer. She wanted a picture which usually features in my necklaces to be put in a brooch. It was for her mother in law for Mothers day.

I happened to make two - and now one is available on Etsy.

I'll have to fight the urge to keep it myself!

Two little blue birds sit on a branch. It is a chilly winter morning, but they keep their spirits up. Chirping away, they appear to say ‘Spring is nearly here’.

Ginger the kitten is very cheeky. On any given afternoon you may find her scaling the blossom tree in search of a dangling blossom with which to play.

Meet Samson the Mini Lop rabbit. He enjoys nothing more than a quiet evening in his library reading prose and smoking his pipe. (Hand drawn by me!)

Full bloom of summer beauty, freshly picked from a cottage garden and placed in a Victorian vase.

Meet Charming Mr. Frog. Decked in coat tails and cravat and armed with a bouquet of freshly picked flowers, he is ready to sweep you off your feet.

Little Miss Kitty. Isn’t she pretty, with her pink bow and petticoat? With one last check on those scones in the oven, she is all ready to greet her guests for afternoon tea.

This morning was a special morning. Everyone in the Deer family got up bright and early. There was a lot of brushing and preening. Now with their antlers high and proud they pose for their annual family portrait. Don’t they look grand?

A very pretty little tea party

On Saturday afternoon I went to a very pretty little tea party hosted by my sister in law, Leora.
A couple of weeks before hand I had received a gorgeous invitation in the mail which she purchased from Whimsy Whimsical's etsy store.
It was a beautiful sunny day and 8 lovely ladies enjoyed cupcakes, sparkling pink lemonade and delectable teas. The little shack Leora and my brother in law call their home was decorated with handmade crepe flowers and buntings. There were also plenty of lollies to go around and we each got a kikki.K. lolly bag to take home with us.
All in all a lovely afternoon!

Custom Bunnies

About a month ago I received a lovely Etsy convo from someone who had made a purchase from my market stall 5 months ago. I remember them clearly - the girl of the couple had been debating whether to purchase the necklace of polymer clay rabbit Poppy or polymer clay rabbit Rhubarb. She ended up choosing Poppy and now wanted to reunite her with her sister Rhubarb. But alas, Rhubarb had been sold! So I worked with the couple and made them some other options for friends for Poppy. It ended up they wanted the whole familly! So Pumpkin, Rose and Parsley have now all gone off to their new home in the Australian Capital Territory with Poppy.

Enjoy!

I am...

I am feeling unmotivated. I am trying to buy an new car as my other one was written off due to flood damage 3 weeks ago. I am wearing a pretty summer dress. I am itching my eyes. I am wanting an over sized woolen jumper. I am feeling sorry for people in Christchurch. I am liking this geometric necklace by verabel below. I am wishing it was the one I saw in Sorrento over summer, hanging from the neck of a delicate pretty young mother to be. But that dream is lost forever.

I only wear foxes

Happy Monday!

My Jemima Puddle-duck and Fox gold cameo brooch was featured in a treasury on the weekend. It was created by
melissahojnacki. I had already spied the gorgeous designs by dandyrions and DIVINEsweetness. But the pretty little fox brooch by MissYvonneNicole was an entirely new delight to me.

Australia

Australia/ The Land Down Under. It's where I live. Wednesday of this week happens to be Australia Day, which means everyone gets the day off (unless your unlucky enough to work a public holiday, in which case you get paid well that day anyway). It's all about sun, beaches, friends, bbqs and good tunes.
Taking about Australia, here is a lovely treasury made up of creations from Australian Designs. Thanks to Zinnia Pea for putting it together. It includes my Red Deer Vintage Style Cameo necklace which can be found here.
