I won a competition a couple of weeks ago on the wonderful SOMETHiNG MONUMENTAL blog by Mandy Crandell. She creates crafts, jewellery and is a photographer. Why not visit her Etsy store here and awesome blog here. I really enjoy the 'Featured' section of her blog where she talks about places she has been, the photographs are amazing!
This morning I received the parcel all the way from Indianapolis. Check out some of the cute and quirky things I won in the giveaway..
I am terribly excited about some super cute vintage pieces I put together last week.
"Would you like your sundae with a cherry on top?" How could we say no to this cute little Kewpie doll?
This sweet necklace features an antique print from the cover of a children book ‘Cat Tales’. Two sweet kittens wearing bows looking playfully into a goldfish bowl. The little girl with Shirley Temple curls just want to play too!
This swallow print in delicate colours is taken from an antique childrens book. The print is framed in a vintage style silver toned frame with elaborate detail. Looks like it should be hung on the wall of a doll house!
A selection of other new bramble and bear pieces. More will be added each few days to Etsy. Why not check them out?
I love you Canon Ixus 130. You are matte black, you are new.
I love the way you capture the best vanilla slice in the world. I love the way you capture the most wonderful sunset lighting up the Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens. And I think you do a pretty good job of capturing me, too. No need for photoshop... the way you capture the light is such an improvement from my old Ixus. I love you and look forward to many years of memories captured through your lens.Me xx
I went for a wonderful long stroll yesterday along Brunswick Street Fitzroy. I was primarily there to check out the Blackbird Market and Rose Street Artist Market as I will be holding some stalls there over the next couple of months! I was especially impressed by the Blackbird market. It was small and cute with plenty of gorgeous merchandise! I have not been shopping in Fitzroy for a while and was dazzled by all the stalls and shops which were obiviously put there specifically for me to spend my money at!
My favourite store was Harem at 248 Brunswick Street. There were several varieties of bird hair clips and I have a soft spot for fake birds! They are actually called mushroom birds, and I had some in my wedding flower arrangements that I made 2 years ago. Here are one of the treasures I picked up.
Some Beatles love for you on this Friday night (Saturday morning technically)If I fell in love with you Would you promise to be true And help me understand Cause I've been in love before And I found that love was more Than just holding hands
If I give my heart to you I must be sure From the very start That you would love me more than her If I trust in you, oh please Don't run and hide If I love you too, oh please Don't hurt my pride like her Cause I couldn't stand the pain And I would be sad if our new love was in vain
So I hope you see that I Would love to love you And that she will cry When she learns we are two Cause I couldn't stand the pain And I would be sad if our new love was in vain So I hope you see that I Would love to love you And that she will cry when she learns we are two.
Have just completed a couple of custom orders for some pretty lacey hairclips.
Ebony and Ivory with freshwater pearls Midnight Poppy Both were handsewn with 2 layers of black lace and detailed beading. They are now ready to be worn to many an occasion, adorning the heads of a couple of gorgeous girls.
This afternoon I did a search on Antique Childrens Books, and practically stopped breathing. Here is one of the reasons why...
I would love to see this picture on a brooch or necklace. Might even just crop out the little girl and leave just the kittens. Do you think it would look good? Would love to hear your thoughts!
To celebrate one year of the wonderful Calico and Co blog Amanda Fuller hosted a swap.
